Step 1

Below the flip-lock closure (red closure cap) in the upper segment is a silver tube/section approx. 3 cm long.

Push this aluminum tube down with one hand while holding the handle with the other hand.

The stick must be held vertically.

step 2

The aluminum tube is pushed down until all segments have joined together.

IMPORTANT : If you have the feeling that you can't go any further out, then the moment has come when you can put on a piece.

With a bit of muscle tension and sensitivity, tighten until you hear a << click >> and a snap button rusts.

step 3

Now the correct height is set. You can find the size table below.

To do this, open the red lock (flip lock) and adjust the height to your height. Do not exceed the "STOP" mark. Then you close the flip lock again.

Set floor height

Adjust the size of the sticks according to your height.

Disassemble folding sticks

Step 1: Press the push button in with one hand WHILE the other hand carefully pulls the upper segment (= black carbon tube) upwards. It is important that the button is pressed and at the same time the carbon tube is pulled upwards.

Tighten carefully to avoid injuries to hands and sticks.

Step 2: Slide the aluminum tube towards the cork handle. Now the lower segments can be easily taken apart and folded together.

Step 3: Open the flip lock and slide the tube together. Then close the flip lock again. Now the folding poles can be stowed away in the dirt and water-repellent Atacama bag.

FAQ

WHAT TO DO IF THE CANE COMPRESSES WHILE HIKING?

Here's a simple trick:

You open the flip lock and turn the opposite screw a little. Pay attention to the correct direction of rotation (clockwise = increasing firmness, counterclockwise = loosening). Tip : Do not overtighten, otherwise the cap will no longer close.

Then close the flip lock again. Repeat until the stick no longer collapses.

CAN I FIX THE STICK OVER THE "STOP" MARK?

No, because stability can no longer be guaranteed above the "stop" mark .

HOW ARE THE SEGMENTS CONNECTED TO EACH OTHER?

The individual segments are connected to each other with a steel cable inside the tubes and are thus held together firmly.

THE FOLDING STICKS ARE VERY LIGHT, ARE THEY STILL STABLE?

For hiking poles, which consist of 3 segments , our folding poles are very stable and at the same time extremely light ( only 270g ).

We combine two extremely stable and light materials :

It is important to create stability where the stress is greatest . That's why we use Lightweight Aircraft Aluminum (also used in aircraft construction) in the lower part of the poles and can withstand heavy loads.

On the other hand, there is highly modular 3K carbon in the upper segments. The carbon is ultra-light and ensures natural cushioning and optimal swing behavior.

Enjoy your adventures with your new Atacama folding sticks!
